Project Manager in Leatherhead

POSITION DETAILS:

PURPOSE OF JOB:

Utilising Bytes’ standard Project Management methodology and toolsets, provide professional project management services supporting the delivery of IT-related projects and services. The role will involve overseeing project delivery of Cloud and Security based Solutions across a wide and varied customer portfolio. There will also be responsibility for managing the Mobilisation and Transition phases of more complex Managed Services, with a view to progressing these to a BAU state of readiness to handover into delivery teams, with in some cases an ongoing requirement for the Project Manager to continue their involvement to deliver ongoing BAU service aspects. Ownership of the project timeline, scope, budget, stakeholder management, reporting and effective management of risks & issues are key.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Take responsibility for the delivery of projects and customer engagements for Bytes.
• Day-to-day running of multiple projects throughout their entire life cycle.
• Lead and manage cloud migration projects.
• Implement cloud-based solutions.
• Collaborate with SME consultant resources to provide input into scalable design solutions.
• Business analysis and scoping of project engagement, including facilitation of workshops and documentation of customer requirements.
• Management of project plans, scope, timescales and budgets.
• Management and coordination of project resources from within Bytes, customers, delivery partners and vendors.

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Scope and plan projects, including scheduling of required resources through the project office.
• Manage tasks allocated to internal and external individuals involved in the project delivery.
• Track and report project progress in-line with set customer expectations.
• Track and report project exceptions, decisions and risks/issues in-line with customer expectations.
• Ensure project stage gates are defined and met, working towards the project end goal and deliverables.
• Ensure delivery of project scope within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Provide sufficient input into technical aspects of engagements to ensure successful delivery of technical components by Bytes’ Solution Consultants and/or third party resources.
• Provide sufficient business input to SME consultant resources to ensure successful delivery of licensing, procurement and compliance management aspects of SAM engagements.
• Work with both internal and external project stakeholders to ensure they are kept informed of progress and any issues with project delivery.
• Manage and supervise project resources, through a matrix management model, applying direct/hands-on management as necessary.
• Foster effective and successful team working project environment to ensure resources are motivated and projects delivered successfully.
• Ensure project documentation such as status reports, end of stage reports and customer signoffs are produced/obtained.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Essential:

• Experience of delivery of Cloud and Security based Solutions to external customers and managing multiple projects and services concurrently.
• Experience of working with recognised Project Management tooling e.g. Microsoft Project.
• Good communicator both written and oral.
• Excellent people management and coordination skills.
• Accreditation in, or able to demonstrate a good understanding and practical working knowledge of a recognised project management methodology such as Prince 2.
• Experience of working within IT/Software industry.
• Excellent time management skills.

Desirable:

• Azure Fundamentals and other relevant Microsoft Accreditations.
• Accreditations in other Cloud Certifications e.g. AWS & Google Cloud.
• Experience or exposure to Software Asset Management principles.
• Experience of working with software license management solutions.
• Experience of working with infrastructure management technologies.

Training Given:

Job specific training will be given during employment both on the job and by vendors.

Other Requirements:

Some hours outside the normal working times may be required to complete specific projects.
