Role context
Bytes Software Services is investing in dedicated product management and marketing capabilities to build packaged, high-value Microsoft solution offers that align with Bytes’ strengths and Microsoft’s strategic priorities (e.g. Frontier Transformation, Cloud, AI/Copilot, Security, Data & Analytics). This role is a hybrid of Product Manager and Product Marketing responsibilities, designed to drive a market-led product management approach to our Microsoft offerings.
Role purpose
The Microsoft Product Manager is the owner and driving force behind Bytes’ Microsoft-focused products, services and offers. This role focuses on identifying market problems and customer needs, defining winning solutions, and delivering them to market. Working cross-functionally with technical architects, solution leads, sales teams, marketing and Microsoft partner managers, the Microsoft Product Manager will take new services from concept and design through to packaging, go-to-market launch, and ongoing adoption. The ultimate objective is to build a portfolio of repeatable, scalable, and commercially successful Microsoft offerings that solve real customer challenges and drive revenue growth for Bytes.
Key responsibilities
- Market intelligence & product strategy: Be the voice of the market. Research and analyse customer needs, industry trends and competitive offerings in Microsoft’s cloud and AI ecosystems. Identify and validate market problems and opportunities that Bytes can address with new or improved services. Develop a strategic roadmap of Microsoft-aligned solution offerings in areas like Azure, AI/Copilot, Security, Data & Analytics, Modern Work, etc., prioritising those with high customer value and growth potential. Ensure product decisions are data-driven and aligned to our overall business objectives.
- Offer & service development: Drive the full product lifecycle. Act as product owner for new Microsoft-based offers and services, leading their development from ideation to pilot and launch. Collaborate with solution architects, technical consultants and Centres of Excellence (COEs) to design robust service offerings with industrialised, repeatable delivery models. Ensure each offering leverages Bytes’ expertise (e.g. AI, security, cloud) and converts technical capabilities into packaged customer solutions. Oversee creation of all service components (scope, deliverables, methodologies) and ensure they are scalable across multiple customers without bespoke rework.
- Standardised offer definition & packaging: Define clear, repeatable services. For every new offer, develop a standardised service definition covering the customer problem statement, target persona, scope (inclusions/exclusions), and a repeatable technical architecture & delivery method. Package offers into commercially ready formats such as named Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) offers, managed services, or packaged solutions that have consistent delivery parameters for all customers. Ensure each offer has a defined pricing model and commercial structure and is documented for easy consumption by sales and customers. Emphasise a “factory model” approach – build once, reuse many times – to maximise efficiency and quality.
- Go-to-market & activation: Bring offerings to market successfully. Develop comprehensive launch and go-to-market plans for each new offer. Craft compelling value propositions and messaging to clearly communicate customer benefits and differentiators. Create and deliver sales enablement materials (playbooks, pitch decks, battlecards, etc.) to ensure sales teams can effectively position the offerings. Co-ordinate with marketing to run campaigns that target relevant customer segments. Work closely with Microsoft and internal teams to list offerings on marketplaces or align with Microsoft sales programmes, ensuring offers are transactable and visible in relevant channels. Drive a scalable activation model by integrating each offer with repeatable go-to-market plays and by enabling our entire sales force to promote the new services.
- Performance management & iteration: Own the lifecycle and outcomes. Once launched, monitor each offering’s performance against key metrics: number of offers created, sales pipeline and revenue generated, customer adoption and satisfaction, and reuse across multiple clients. Gather customer and sales feedback to understand what is working and where improvements are needed. Use a data-driven approach to iterate on and refine offerings over time to increase their value, quality and market traction. Decide when to update, enhance or retire services based on strategic fit and performance. Ensure success stories, customer wins and proof points are captured to further refine go-to-market messaging.
- Stakeholder collaboration & leadership: Work in close partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Internally, lead cross-functional “offer build” teams (product, technical, delivery, sales, operations) and ensure everyone is aligned on deliverables and timelines. Externally, liaise with Microsoft and other technology partners to incorporate their latest product innovations, best practice, and go-to-market initiatives into Bytes’ offerings. Champion a culture of pragmatic product management within the business – fostering customer-centric thinking, continuous learning, and a mindset of scalable innovation.
Skills & experience
Essential: Demonstrable experience in Product Management and Product Marketing, ideally in cloud services, software, or technology consulting. Adept at identifying and validating market needs and translating them into commercially successful offerings. Strong understanding of Microsoft’s cloud ecosystem (Copilot, Azure, Microsoft 365, Security, Data & AI, etc.) and how partner solutions are developed and sold. Track record of launching new products or services (e.g. product roadmaps, service packages, or managed services) with measurable business results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of crafting clear value propositions and guiding sales narratives. Experience with go-to-market planning & enablement, including sales training and content creation. Strong technical aptitude and solution understanding. Able to develop a deep understanding of Microsoft technologies, architectures, services and delivery methodologies, and translate complex technical capabilities into clear customer value propositions, repeatable service offerings and compelling go-to-market strategies. Comfortable working with architects, consultants and engineering teams, with sufficient technical depth to challenge assumptions, shape solution design, and act as the bridge between technical delivery and commercial success.
Desirable: Experience working with or within Microsoft partner programmes, such as building offerings for the Azure Marketplace or utilising Microsoft co-operative marketing/incentive programmes (e.g. via CSP). Microsoft certifications in relevant technology areas (e.g. Azure, Security, Data/AI) are a plus. A strong collaborative mindset – comfortable working across sales, marketing, technical, and partner teams to get things done.
What success looks like
A successful Microsoft Product Manager will build a high-impact portfolio of Microsoft offers that achieves tangible business outcomes. Success is measured by the number of new partner offers launched and their adoption at scale across multiple customers. Key metrics include revenue and pipeline generated by new offerings, the growth in Microsoft cloud consumption driven by these services, and the consistency and quality of delivery (e.g. minimal customisation needed per customer). The Microsoft Product Manager’s efforts will result in improved sales confidence and differentiation in the market, demonstrated by strong sales enablement uptake, successful marketing campaigns, and positive customer outcomes. Ultimately, the role’s success is defined by turning Bytes’ Microsoft capabilities into repeatable, monetisable solutions that accelerate customer success and drive sustainable growth for the business.
