The Azure Onboarding Specialist is responsible for delivering a consistent, controlled and high-quality onboarding experience for customers moving their Azure estates to the Bytes Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) programme. Acting as the primary point of contact throughout each engagement, the role manages the end-to-end transfer process, from initial customer engagement and prerequisite validation through remediation, implementation, documentation, validation and operational handover. The specialist will plan and execute direct-to-CSP transfers from Enterprise Agreement (EA), Microsoft Customer Agreement Enterprise (MCA-E), Microsoft Customer Agreement Individual (MCA-I) and Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) billing arrangements. The role ensures that Azure subscription billing is successfully transitioned to the Bytes CSP model while preserving the customer's existing Azure resources and configurations, coordinating all dependencies and customer communications through to successful completion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer onboarding and engagement: Own assigned Azure CSP onboarding engagements from internal sales handover and customer kick-off through to successful completion and operational acceptance.
  • Transfer assessment and readiness: Assess Azure subscriptions for CSP transfer eligibility, validating commercial, billing, tenant, subscription, access and technical prerequisites before transfer activity begins.
  • Transfer planning and delivery: Plan, coordinate and execute direct-to-CSP transfers from EA, MCA-E, MCA-I and PAYG arrangements into the Bytes CSP programme.
  • Risk and remediation management: Identify transfer constraints, dependencies and incompatibilities, coordinate remediation activity and escalate issues that could affect successful delivery.
  • Customer and stakeholder coordination: Act as the primary customer contact throughout the onboarding process, coordinating activity across the customer, Bytes, Microsoft and relevant third parties.
  • Service continuity and validation: Protect existing Azure resources and configurations throughout the transfer process and validate successful completion before handover.
  • Governance and documentation: Maintain accurate engagement records, transfer plans, approvals, risk and issue logs, completion documentation and customer acceptance.
  • Operational handover: Complete a structured handover following transfer, ensuring the customer and relevant Bytes teams have confirmation of completion and any outstanding actions are clearly documented.

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer onboarding and coordination: Arrange and lead customer transfer kick-off calls. Gather and validate tenant name, domain, tenant ID, subscription source type and applicable subscription IDs. Confirm that the Bytes Microsoft Cloud Agreement has been accepted and that the customer tenant is appropriately associated. Confirm availability of the required customer contacts, including an authorised Global Administrator and appropriate billing agreement owner or administrator. Coordinate customer resources, relevant Bytes teams and third parties throughout the engagement. Maintain clear customer communication covering status, dependencies, risks and required actions.
  • Assessment and transfer readiness: Assess subscription and offer-type eligibility for transfer to Bytes CSP. Identify subscriptions that require conversion to a transferable offer type. Validate transferability of Azure Marketplace subscriptions, Azure Reservations and Azure Compute Savings Plans. Identify Classic Azure resources, Azure Service Management dependencies and other transfer incompatibilities. Confirm required access and permissions are available before transfer activity begins. Document prerequisites, dependencies, risks, exclusions and remediation requirements, including offer-type eligibility, Marketplace transferability, Classic Azure dependencies and Microsoft transfer restrictions.
  • Transfer planning and transfer delivery: Plan and execute the transfer of eligible Azure subscriptions from EA, MCA-E, MCA-I and PAYG arrangements to the Bytes CSP programme. Create or confirm availability of the required Azure Plan subscription. Obtain and validate the permissions required to complete transfer activity. Accept relevant partner association, Microsoft Customer Agreement and Microsoft subscription transfer terms where authorised by the customer. Transition billing for successfully transferred subscriptions to the Bytes CSP model. Transfer eligible Azure Reservations and Azure Compute Savings Plans where permitted. Protect existing Azure resources and configurations throughout the transfer. Complete post-transfer validation and confirm successful completion.
  • Remediation and issue management: Identify customer-owned remediation required to resolve transfer incompatibilities. Clearly communicate remediation requirements and dependencies to the customer. Track agreed remediation actions and escalate delays, access issues and technical blockers.
  • Documentation, handover and completion: Maintain accurate records of customer information, approvals, transfer activity, risks, decisions and completion status. Complete a structured customer handover following transfer. Provide written confirmation that transfer activity has been completed. Request formal customer acceptance by email. Record material customer concerns and support the review of valid remediation requirements. Ensure a clear audit trail exists from initial engagement through transfer completion and customer acceptance. Gain the customers’ acceptance by email following completion.
