Head of Portfolio Assurance & Delivery in Leatherhead, Surrey

Help shape how Bytes delivers at scale. Bytes is growing, and with that growth comes the need for greater visibility, accountability and consistency across our Digital Platforms portfolio. We're looking for a Head of Portfolio Assurance & Delivery to bring structure, challenge and clarity across a complex technology landscape. This is a senior leadership role for someone who enjoys working in evolving environments, influencing senior stakeholders and helping teams deliver against ambitious goals.

You'll have the opportunity to shape how portfolio governance, delivery assurance and investment oversight operate across the business while helping technology leaders achieve better outcomes for both Bytes and our customers.

This role exists to provide independent oversight and assurance across our Digital Platforms portfolio, ensuring priorities are clear, progress is visible, risks are managed and investment is delivering value. You'll work closely with Platform Leads and senior technology leaders, helping create greater alignment, stronger delivery disciplines and more informed decision-making across the organisation.

In your first 6 to 12 months, you'll:

• Establish clear portfolio assurance and governance across Digital Platforms.
• Create meaningful visibility of delivery progress, risks, dependencies and outcomes for senior leadership.
• Ensure platform teams have clear roadmaps, realistic plans and effective controls in place.
• Improve collaboration across functions, reducing silos and strengthening alignment on shared priorities.
• Provide challenge, coaching and advice to technology leaders to improve delivery performance and predictability.
• Strengthen financial oversight, helping leadership understand investment, spend, resource utilisation and risks.
• Lead governance around technology change and release activity, ensuring risks are understood and managed appropriately.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Significant experience leading complex technology portfolios, major programmes or transformation initiatives.
• A strong background in programme delivery with experience of both Agile and Waterfall environments.
• Proven experience managing portfolio investment, budgets and financial governance.
• The confidence to influence, challenge and advise senior stakeholders constructively.
• Excellent governance, risk management and delivery assurance capabilities.
• Experience within technology-led environments, with broader infrastructure knowledge being advantageous.
