PURPOSE OF JOB:
- As part of the Bytes License Services team, the FinOps Consultant will be responsible for delivering best practices in FinOps and Cloud Optimisation Services throughout the delivery lifecycle. This role involves producing, managing, and maintaining accurate software cloud optimisation positions across multiple vendors and Microsoft practices (AWS & GCP desirable). In addition to driving cost efficiency, you will provide expert guidance on optimizing cloud asset management strategies, including offering purchasing recommendations and advising on cost-saving actions. Our goal is to help clients achieve sustainable financial performance and align with cloud optimization best practices.
- The ideal candidate would acts as the technical SME (subject matter expert) for all FinOps matters relating to Azure & 365 (AWS / GCP desirable) & be expected to utilise their FinOps knowledge to synthesise a consulting approach to client delivery guidance that includes: story-based presentation narrative creation focused on ‘so what’ client storytelling. This role acts as a critical support to the Head of FinOps in helping to align longer term strategic roadmap planning with delivery upskilling planning, ensuring we have the right training & certification plans across the team to support our GTM & Proposition roadmap goals.
Key Strategic Activities:
- Technical SME for FinOps team (Azure & 365).
- Support Head of FinOps as required on Project work.
FinOps Lifecycle Management:
- Own Customer Deliveries for full length of service.
- Ensure all customer deliverables are to the highest quality and delivered in an agreed upon time.
- Spearheading key FinOps activity and giving input into service improvements from the customer perspective.
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert for our customers and Bytes Sales teams.
- Managing the work schedule for deliverables in alignment with BAU tasks, team goals and management priorities.
- Delivering thought-leadership for cloud optimisation engagements; submitting enhancement/evolutionary suggestions for changing existing defined service specifications based on customer feedback, toolset development and changes to best practice and industry standards - thereby contributing to the continuous service improvement effort.
- Ensuring relationships are established and maintained with members of the Services team and specifically colleagues delivering similar, related or dependent services.
As the requirements of the business and our customers change, so this job profile, duties, responsibilities, and locations of the role (both geographically and within the business organisational structure) will be adjusted accordingly.
The Consultant will be required to perform any other duties assigned to them by their line management team that are commensurate with the existing role.
