About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Delivery Manager to lead complex digital delivery initiatives within a large, highly regulated organisation.
You will be responsible for coordinating multiple suppliers and delivery teams, establishing effective governance and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, within agreed budgets and timelines.
This is a senior leadership role requiring someone who can quickly establish delivery arrangements, manage dependencies and risks, and provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery while embedding sustainable processes and supporting effective knowledge transfer.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate complex digital delivery programmes across multiple teams and suppliers.
- Establish effective delivery governance, reporting, controls and ways of working.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with delivery priorities and objectives.
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies, blockers, resources and delivery budgets.
- Provide clear, evidence-based progress reports and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Facilitate collaboration between suppliers, delivery teams and internal stakeholders.
- Apply Agile and user-centred delivery practices appropriate to the project environment.
- Support knowledge transfer, capability handover and sustainable delivery practices.
Essential Experience & Technical Skills
- Significant experience as a Senior Delivery Manager, leading complex digital delivery initiatives.
- Proven experience managing multiple suppliers, delivery teams or managed-service environments.
- Strong experience establishing delivery governance, reporting frameworks and operational controls.
- Demonstrable ability to manage delivery risks, dependencies, resources and budgets.
- Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and user-centred digital delivery.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, complex and ambiguous environments.
- Experience managing knowledge transfer, handovers and sustainable delivery processes.
- Previous experience working within UK Government, public sector or highly regulated organisations.
- Experience delivering digital transformation programmes involving multiple external suppliers.
- Familiarity with government digital delivery standards and governance frameworks.
- Experience mobilising new delivery arrangements within short timescales.
