Responsibilities
About the Team: The Global Payment team of Bytedance provides payment solutions, including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms. The Strategic Readiness and Business Communication role is a senior level hire within Global Payments, responsible for strengthening business readiness, regulatory awareness, and leadership communication for the main markets.
- Strategic Readiness: focused on strategic preparation, pre-launch readiness, cross-functional execution, and building internal communication mechanisms.
- Business Communication: focused on senior stakeholder communication, business storytelling, cross-functional alignment, executive reporting materials, and project communication frameworks.
- Translate complex payment, regulatory, operational, and strategic topics into concise leadership‑ready materials, including executive updates, business reviews, briefing notes, talking points, and stakeholder communication packs.
- Partner closely with cross‑functional teams to assess readiness gaps, execution dependencies, stakeholder implications, and communication needs for key initiatives.
- Support governance routines, readiness reviews, escalation forums, and leadership reporting to ensure strategic priorities are tracked, risks are surfaced, and decisions are made in a timely manner.
- Develop communication plans for major business changes, regulatory implementation, operational incidents, market launches, or transformation programmes affecting GTM.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders by providing structured judgement, clear messaging, and practical recommendations on sensitive or time‑critical business topics.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Significant experience in payments, fintech, financial services, banking, consulting, business operations, corporate strategy, regulatory readiness, or strategic communications.
- Strong understanding of payment operations and fintech business models, with familiarity across areas such as acquiring, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment methods, reconciliation, foreign exchange, or cross‑border payments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, concise, and leadership‑ready materials for senior audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management experience, including the ability to influence cross‑functional teams and senior leaders in a complex, matrixed, and international environment.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables with high attention to detail.
- Proven ability to translate ambiguous or complex business topics into structured plans, executive narratives, and practical action steps.
- High level of discretion, judgement, and professionalism when handling sensitive business, regulatory, or reputational topics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in business, finance, economics, communications, public policy, law, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications or training in payments, financial services regulation, risk management, compliance, project management, or communications would be advantageous.
- Experience working in a fintech, technology platform, payments company, high‑growth financial services environment, or global matrix organisation.
- Ability to operate comfortably across global and regional teams, with sensitivity to different regulatory, cultural, and commercial contexts.
- The role requires both the ability to communicate clearly in writing and to drive execution on the ground.
