The ByteDance Global Edge Cloud serves as the world's premier edge cloud computing service, offering enterprise users with Content Delivery Network, Edge Security, Edge AI, and Lightweight Computing services. In line with our commitment to excellence, we are looking for an SRE and DevOps tech lead. You will work with a talented team to improve system stability and operation efficiency, as well as being the tech lead of a small team in London.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team in technological innovation and architectural design, with outstanding technical capabilities and deep industry experience.
- Capable of analyzing and solving complex technical problems, providing effective solutions. Familiar with performance optimization methods and strategies to enhance system performance.
- Deploy and administrate Kubernetes clusters both on-prem and in cloud (AWS, GCP, etc.).
- Optimize the CI/CD pipeline and release management system, and build testing framework for integration and performance tests.
- Develop automation systems and platforms for efficient change management and incident management.
- Improve system efficiency and troubleshoot issues related to networking, storage, scheduling, etc.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or any equivalent technical field with relevant work experience.
- Experience in Kubernetes and Unix/Linux systems from kernel to shell and beyond.
- Experience in designing, analyzing, and building automation tools and CI/CD pipelines for large scale and complex systems.
- Experience in coding with higher-level languages (such as Python, C++, Go, etc.) and proficiency in learning new languages, technologies, frameworks, and APIs.
- Capability to learn, explore, and conduct research in unfamiliar domains.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experienced in working within a global team and cooperating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and dynamic setting with limited oversight.
- Familiar with edge computing, CDN, load balance, distributed storage/computing architecture or other public cloud products and technologies.
- Focus on industry technology trends to drive the team to adapt and lead technological changes continuously.
- Experience in using and contributing to open-source projects in Kubernetes and cloud native ecosystem.
- Experience in networking technologies such TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, load balancers, etc.
