Byrne Resourcing are partnering with a leading global investment management firm to appoint an experienced HR Business Partner, EMEA. This senior individual contributor role, within a highly collaborative globally integrated team, will provide strategic talent support to leaders, managers, and employees across the region, with a particular focus on Distribution and Sales. This role will partner closely with business leaders and HR colleagues across regions and platforms to diagnose talent priorities, anticipate organisational needs, and deliver high-impact solutions across the employee lifecycle.
The successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, credibility with senior stakeholders, and the skills to work effectively in a complex, global, and matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as a strategic thought partner to the EMEA client group, translating business strategy and growth priorities into an integrated talent agenda and owning its execution in partnership with business leaders and HR colleagues.
- Develop a deep understanding of the EMEA business, including its strategy, structure, commercial priorities, and talent implications across wealth and institutional channels.
- In partnership with functional HR Business Partners, serve as the primary regional HR contact for the client group, providing local guidance, resolving issues, and proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen engagement across these populations.
- Share relevant talent insights which help move the business strategy forward with the global business leaders and partner with global HR colleagues on needle moving talent initiatives.
- Partner closely with global managers across the globe who manage talent in the region, working closely with them to identify and address talent risks, build bench strength for critical roles, and create thoughtful development and retention strategies for high-impact talent.
- Partner with the Employee Relations team to advise on employee relations matters with sound judgment, discretion, and a focus on early intervention, balanced outcomes, and alignment with local legal and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with leaders across the full talent lifecycle, including attracting, assessing, onboarding, developing, engaging, and retaining high-performing and diverse talent.
- Working in an integrated way with the global HR teams, lead or support key talent processes for the client group, including talent reviews, succession planning, performance discussions, development planning, promotion decisions, and organisational planning.
- Partner with recruitment colleagues to shape hiring strategies for critical roles, ensuring strong assessment, market calibration, and excellent candidate experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues across compensation, talent management, learning and development, mobility, legal, and HR operations to deliver coordinated and high-quality support to the business.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced HR professional with broad business partnering experience in a sophisticated, high-performing environment. They will bring a strong business-first mindset, sound judgment, and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
Substantial HR business partnering or talent leadership experience, ideally within investment management, financial services, or another complex professional services environment. Global mindset, experience of working with employees and leaders in multiple European locations, and awareness of cultural, legal and regulatory nuances, with the cultural intelligence to think cross-firm, operate globally, and navigate human dynamics with sound judgment.
Strong track record of partnering with senior leaders on leadership effectiveness, talent strategy, succession planning, and complex people decisions, with the ability to translate insight into practical, actionable outcomes through critical thinking, strategic foresight, and strong judgment.
Experience supporting commercially oriented teams, with exposure to sales, distribution, relationship management, or other client-facing populations viewed as highly advantageous, together with a pragmatic and execution-oriented approach that drives growth.
Demonstrated ability to influence credibly at senior levels and to navigate a matrixed, global organisation with confidence and diplomacy, acting as a trusted advisor and honest broker who is objective, curious, and comfortable sharing a point of view.
Excellent coaching, listening, communication, and collaboration skills, with the empathy, EQ, and care for people needed to build trusting relationships, bring clarity, and challenge constructively on complex issues.
Strong execution and project management capability, with the ability to balance strategic work with hands-on delivery, day-to-day responsiveness, and follow-through, while operating with pace, urgency, and resourcefulness.
Experience handling employee relations matters with maturity, discretion, and sound judgment, and the ability to seek out multiple perspectives and facilitate balanced, practical outcomes.
