REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF INNOVATION & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

BASED: GLASGOW, SCOTLAND

We have an amazing opportunity for a Product Development Manager to join our team in Glasgow, Scotland. Reporting to our Director of Innovation & Product Development, our Product Development Manager will be pivotal in driving our mission to disrupt and innovate, merging strategic vision with actionable product development plans. A key focus will be on people management, fostering collaboration, and ensuring excellence in Product Development (PD) internally and externally. We\’re looking for someone with extensive experience in the beauty industry and a passion for skincare innovation and evolving industry trends.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Development Management

  • Work with the Director of Innovation & Product Development to develop and continually improve our Product Development process and strategy.
  • Manage the Product Development team; provide mentorship and nurture a high-performing, collaborative environment.
  • Liaise with Quality and Compliance team to ensure all new products meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Lead coordination efforts across cross-functional teams and with external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Regularly meet to discuss project progress, provide feedback, and address any challenges.
  • Manage departmental budgets effectively, ensuring all product development activities are cost-efficient and aligned with financial goals.

Industry Engagement & Research

  • Conduct thorough research and data analysis to identify opportunities for new products or enhancements to existing offerings.
  • Stay up to date on competitor products and industry developments to ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Deliver presentations of projects, ingredients, and visionary product concepts to the Senior Management Team and C-Suite.
  • Alongside the Director of Innovation, represent the company at industry events, networking with potential partners to explore opportunities for future product development.

WHAT WE\’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading new product development processes within the beauty industry; including experience with skincare development.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and motivating teams, fostering an environment of collaboration and excellence. Proven ability to achieve personal and departmental goals.
  • Capable of merging strategic vision with practical application, ensuring the long-term innovation plan is effectively implemented.
  • Exceptional communicator and presenter, skilled in relaying complex PD processes and updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of the beauty industry, competitor landscape, and emerging trends.
  • Passion for innovation and a commitment to sustainability in product development.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to attend industry events and engage with clients, suppliers and potential partners.
