The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.

Purpose of the role: Ambitious Quantity Surveyor required to provide commercial support to the project team ensuring value is delivered to the client and also to the business while still achieving the required standards and quality and working to the highest ethical and professional standards.

Key responsibilities and specific accountabilities:

  • Reporting to and supporting the Commercial Manager
  • Subcontract Management
  • Able to complete the suite of project reports from raw data and interpret and advise on key issues
  • Remeasurement of works
  • Maintaining commercial information
  • Attend regular meetings with the client, project team and subcontractors
  • Change management and client negotiation
  • Liaise closely with the delivery team to ensure awareness of the works
  • Contract reviews and progress meetings
  • Risk management and mitigation
  • Ensuring compliance and contractual requirements
  • Provide constructive feedback on improving efficiency
  • Managing costs from the initial estimate up to the agreement of final accounts
  • Contract administration
  • Able to discuss more complex construction technologies, with an understanding of the commercial implications

Essential skills & knowledge:

  • Main Contractor experience
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced project
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work within a large team
  • The ability to negotiate

Additional Information: Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. All positions with Bylor are employed directly with either Laing O’Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Public and include competitive salaries, private medical insurance, company pension schemes and annual holiday allowance. Some grades will also include a company car allowance. Unless stated otherwise all positions are based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
