We are seeking a dynamic Project Leader to join our integrated Contractor/Sub-Contractor project team at the HPC site. Reporting directly to the Operational Leader (Completions), you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of specialist coating application works in this landmark nuclear new build facility.
About The Role
You will oversee the application of specialist coating systems to concrete and steel structures/buildings, ensuring all work complies with Client-approved design requirements. This critical role demands precision, coordination, and strong leadership to deliver high-quality results on a complex infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing and accountable for a multi-million-pound package of works at HPC β taking responsibility for the programme, schedule and delivery of works against the client's instructed design requirements.
- The management of an integrated management team of circa 60, no white collar staff, including project management, construction, commercial, planning, technical, quality and project control functions and accountable for the execution of a workforce of circa 500, no blue collar workers.
- Ownership of the project budget including the management of contractual configuration management arrangements in support of demonstrating value of money including EAC (estimate a completion) management and reporting.
- Understanding the contractual mechanisms of an NEC contract and the management and ownership of an NEC contract β supported by a Commercial team.
- Evaluating and preparing Early Warnings notices to project controls and describe mitigating measures.
- Reporting project updates to the senior executive team including Client team.
- Delivering the scope of works in accordance with the budget demands and as such demonstrating an understanding financial management techniques β including EAC (estimate at completion) forecast management.
- Lead planning and coordination of specialist coating application activities.
- Manage and supervise on-site teams to ensure efficient execution of works.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Liaise closely with Client representatives and project stakeholders.
- Monitor progress and report regularly to the Operational Leader (Completions).
What Weβre Looking For
- Proven experience in managing specialist coating or similar construction projects.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Knowledge of coating application to concrete and steel within large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Experience of managing programmes/projects of work in a highly regulated environment.
- Strong Knowledge in NEC contracts, Membership of a professional body such as APM.

All positions with Bylor are employed directly with either Laing O'Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Public and include competitive salaries, private medical insurance, company pension schemes and annual holiday allowance.
