We are looking for a hands-on Freelance Performance Marketing Manager to own and run ByEllie's paid media channels, with a primary focus on Meta Ads and Google Ads, alongside light TikTok Ads support. This is a practical, execution-led role for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers, creative testing, and ongoing optimisation, while understanding how paid media supports wider brand, trading, and commercial goals. You will work closely with the founder and wider team to scale performance profitably and sustainably.
Key Responsibilities- Own the day-to-day management of Meta Ads, including campaign setup, testing, optimisation, scaling, and reporting.
- Ideally manage Google Ads (Search, Performance Max, and Demand Gen / YouTube), or work closely with support if this is not your core strength.
- Monitor performance daily and weekly, adjusting budgets, bids, and creative to hit efficiency and revenue targets.
- Manage relationships with platform account managers and reps.
- Work closely with the creative team to brief, test, and iterate paid-first creative across video and static formats.
- Translate performance insights into clear creative direction, including hooks, formats, and messaging.
- Build and maintain a structured testing roadmap to consistently improve results.
- Own weekly performance reporting with clear insights and actions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and target-setting in line with the commercial trading calendar.
- Track profitability (CPA, ROAS, COS) and scale spend responsibly.
- Collaborate with organic, e-commerce, email, and wider marketing efforts to ensure a joined-up customer journey.
- Communicate clearly and proactively across the business.
- Strong hands-on experience managing Meta Ads for a DTC brand (beauty or fashion a plus).
- Experience with Google Ads (Search, Performance Max, and Demand Gen) strongly preferred.
- Confident in analysing data and making commercial decisions.
- Strong creative judgement and an understanding of what makes great paid creative work.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communicator who enjoys collaborating across teams.
- Proactive, practical, and solution-focused.
- TikTok Ads experience or strong interest in learning.
- Experience working closely with founders or small teams.
- Understanding of DTC trading calendars, including launches, sales, and peak periods.
