A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Projects team in London. The team has a long-standing reputation for advising international and national energy companies, governments, and financial institutions on complex, high-value transactions across the oil, gas, LNG, and energy transition sectors.
This is a rare opportunity to join a top-tier projects practice recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers for excellence in the oil & gas sector. The team advises on the full lifecycle of projects — from M&A and development to financing, trading, and regulation — across the UK, the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.
You’ll work on market-leading deals and pioneering energy projects, including renewable and transition technologies such as carbon capture, hydrogen, and sustainable aviation fuel.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on major transactional projects, including M&A, project development, financing and trading arrangements within the oil & gas and energy sectors
- Drafting, negotiating and managing complex contractual documentation for cross-border transactions
- Assessing and managing risk across diverse project structures and jurisdictions
- Supporting junior lawyers and contributing to team growth and development
About you
- Qualified Lawyer with 4+ years’ PQE with Oil and gas experience across the sector (M&A, project development, financing and/or trading)
- Strong transactional and negotiation experience with solid drafting skills
- Excellent understanding of project risk and commercial dynamics
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to handle complex, high-value transactions
- Ambitious, with a clear desire to progress
