A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Partner or Legal Director to join and grow its Data Protection & Privacy offering, with a particular focus on advising public sector clients. This is a strategic, senior appointment offering the chance to influence high-impact privacy, data governance and cyber-risk matters across government, public bodies and large public-service organisations.
You will play a key role in expanding the firm's public-sector footprint, leading major data-protection projects and collaborating with colleagues across commercial, regulatory, technology, and litigation teams.
Location: UK-wide remitSalary: Dependant on ExperienceKey Responsibilities
- Advising public sector organisations on all aspects of data protection, privacy and cyber compliance
- Leading advice on data-governance frameworks, DPIAs, data-sharing arrangements and compliance with UK GDPR / DPA 2018
- Advising on AI, automated decision-making and emerging data-technology risk in the public sector
- Managing regulatory investigations, breaches, and enforcement responses
- Building and maintaining senior client relationships across government and public services
- A Senior data protection / privacy lawyer
- Strong track record advising public sector clients or organisations working closely with public bodies
- Expertise in UK GDPR, DPA 2018, regulatory enforcement and data-governance frameworks
- Able to lead complex advisory matters, manage teams, and develop a growing practice
