Position Summary
The Social Media and Content Creation Manager will be a driving force in developing and executing compelling social media strategies and content for BYD UK’s passenger car range. This role is crucial for increasing brand awareness, driving engagement across key digital platforms, and managing collaborative relationships with internal teams, PR agencies, and influencers. We are looking for a candidate with a strong focus on social media performance, preferably with experience in the automotive industry and proven ability to manage external agencies.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Social Media Strategy & Performance: Assist in developing and implementing robust social media strategies designed to increase brand awareness, drive engagement, and grow follower counts. Oversee content creation and distribution across key social media channels, including the UK Facebook & Instagram channels, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube, ensuring brand consistency. Analyze social media metrics and insights to optimize content performance, identify emerging trends, and capitalize on new opportunities.
- Content Creation & Management: Assist in the development of compelling and engaging content focused on BYD UK’s passenger car range, specifically tailored for social media platforms. Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective content calendars designed for followers and potential customers. Coordinate leading content shoots and creative projects, working closely with our external creative agency partners.
- Campaign Management & Event Support: Plan and execute social media campaigns specifically focused on promoting BYD UK’s latest electric car models, features, and events. Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies as needed to ensure successful reach, engagement, and alignment with target audiences. Attend and support industry events, represent BYD UK, post live updates, share experiences, and interact with the public during events to enhance brand visibility and foster community connections.
- Community Management & Collaboration: Work with our social media agency to support the monitoring and responses to comments, messages, and inquiries related to BYD UK’s electric cars across all social media platforms. Work closely with the PR team to identify and collaborate with influencers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) in the automotive industry. Coordinate and manage influencer campaigns to create authentic content and amplify BYD UK’s electric car messaging across their audiences. Coordinate with the sales, customer service, and product development teams to ensure cohesive messaging and brand consistency across all channels.
What are we looking for?
- Industry Expertise: Proven experience in social media and content creation, with 3+ years experience working within the Electric Vehicle (EV) or broader Automotive industry a strong advantage.
- Agency Management: Demonstrable experience in managing and collaborating with external creative and social media agencies to deliver high-quality, on-brand content.
- Social Media Proficiency: Deep understanding of the UK/European social media landscape, with hands-on expertise in using advanced analytical tools and platform management systems for optimization.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; a creative, results-oriented mindset with strong organizational and project management abilities.
