BYD UK is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager with proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization. Candidates with automotive industry experience will be given priority, as this role will directly support BYD’s mission to revolutionise electric vehicle manufacturing and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities for automotive components, raw materials, and services.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to achieve cost savings and supply chain resilience.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favourable terms (quality, cost, delivery timelines).
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and QA teams to align procurement with project requirements.
- Monitor market trends, conduct supplier risk assessments, and identify alternative sourcing solutions.
- Optimize inventory levels while ensuring compliance with sustainability and ethical sourcing policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers across Europe and globally.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of procurement/supply chain experience, preferably in automotive, manufacturing, or related sectors.
- Proven track record in supplier negotiation, cost reduction, and contract management.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a multicultural environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of UK/EU regulations and sustainability standards in automotive supply chains is preferred.
- Professional certification is a plus (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).
