About the role
BYD is currently seeking a Commercial Vehicle Technician who reports directly to the Workshop Manager. This exciting opportunity has become available due to the successful growth of the company. The Engineer will support and repair the BYD vehicles roadside, or at the customer premises.
Engineers required for the below regions:
- Greater London Area
- Midlands Area (Birmingham/Coventry)
- Scotland Area
Main Tasks and responsibilities:
- Professional focused approach to customers with the aim to please at all times
- UK drivers’ licence required
- Able to support BYD vehicles at the customer premises
- Background knowledge of commercial/public service vehicles
- Able to work flexible hours of travel
- Outlook to repair BYD vehicles to the highest possible standards
- Diagnosing electrical defects and component working high voltage
- The ability to carry out and diagnosis, mechanical repairs when required
- Good understanding of health and safety in the workplace
- Any other reasonable duties
Ideal candidate profile:
- Must have an electrical, mechanical or automotive engineering or related qualification
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisation skills requiring minimum supervision
- At least 3 years’ experience of automotive industry
- Good understanding of UK vehicle legislation for M3 category vehicles
- Understanding of FMEA and hazard analysis procedures
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including MS Office
- Has right-to-work in the UK
