Our client is now seeking to appoint a Corporate Governance Manager on a full time, permanent basis. This is a new role in the Secretariat team structure that will report directly to and support the Head of Governance. The role has been created due to increased workflow within the department and to help provide more senior resource to the Head of Governance who, aside from this role, has four direct reports.
The fundamental aspect to this role is that you successfully act as a trusted advisor to the business. You lead confidently on secretariat support and advice for selected Boards and committees as well as partnering with the Head of Governance in delivering strategic projects and enhancing governance processes. You will need to demonstrate your credibility at supporting at Board level and that you have a solid grasp of all governance matters at the highest level.
As this client works within a regulated environment, this experience is also vital and sought after, along with being a Chartered Secretary. Familiarity with people management or coaching is also desirable - whilst there are no direct reports to this role, you will be encouraged to take an active role in supporting and mentoring more junior team members, often being a first point of contact for any help required.
This is definitely a role for a proven Board level specialist, someone who enjoys supporting Boards and committees and who can and will take more of an active role in ensuring the highest levels of governance are maintained.
