This prestigious private members club based in South West is now looking to appoint a Governance professional on a permanent basis. This role can be considered on a full-time or part-time basis (no fewer than 3 days per week).

This is a fantastic opportunity to join and help an organisation that is steeped in history. As the Governance Officer you will provide comprehensive governance and secretariat services support and play a crucial role in supporting the governance structure of the Club to ensure compliance with its rules and regulations.

Working closely with the Club's Trustees, Main Committee, principal sub-committees and senior leadership team, you will bring your experience of governance and wider company secretarial duties to the fore in ensuring effective governance practice across the organisation. This is a distinctive role that you can take full ownership of, offering flexibility and autonomy. Your approach and expertise will have a significant impact on the smooth running of the organisation.

Ideally, you have strong, documented experience of working in a variety of organisations, supporting on a wide range of company secretarial and governance matters. Experience of working with membership organisations would be of particular interest.

As much as your technical expertise will be vital, so will your approach and 'fit'. You will need to be comfortable operating in a very visible role, one which will rely on you to be very involved in an advisory capacity. Understanding how changes might affect different members and stakeholders within the club and being able to explain and often educate on a level that they will understand.

This organisation is incredibly warm and friendly; one that is very welcoming to new members of the team who will benefit from a very social and positive working environment. The role is to be largely based at their fantastic club in South West London. Hybrid working is available with one day a week from home, as well as additional ad-hoc remote working and/or more flexible arrangements can be considered.

The complex itself is truly remarkable with beautiful gardens and grounds. There is a free onsite canteen as well as free onsite parking - but the club is also easily accessible via public transport.
