Our client is a leading firm of Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors specialising in providing audit, assurance and advisory services to charities and other not-for-profit organisations. They also provide a range of services to businesses and individuals. We operate primarily in London and the Southeast. They are one of the oldest firms of chartered accountants in Britain. They have been an independent partnership for over 150 years and intend to remain an independent specialist firm.
About The Opportunity
They are looking for audit seniors who have an interest in the not-for-profit sector and are keen to develop specialist expertise. Prior experience of the sector is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided. As an audit senior within the firm you will be expected to work as a team member and also independently. You will develop your supervisory skills and use your expertise for all stages of an audit, from planning through to completion. Their audit approach includes ongoing contact with clients throughout the year.
About The Responsibilities
- Full responsibility of all stages of an audit from planning through to completion
- Support junior colleagues and review their work
- Maintain regular contact with clients
- Prepare statutory accounts for smaller clients from the clients trial balance or management accounts
- Use cloud-based software for audit and assurance exercises
About The Applicant
The successful candidate will be:
- PQ/Qualified ACCA/ACA
- Have over a year audit experience with exposure to the not-for-profit sector desirable but not essential
- Numerate with strong IT skills
- An excellent communicator with good verbal and written English skills
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and with a positive outlook
- Able to visit the other company offices and at clients sites when necessary
- Experience ideal but not necessary in using Microsoft 365, MyWorkpapers online audit system and IRIS
About The Benefits
Competitive salary, dependent on experience. They have developed a hybrid working environment which will allow you to work a mixture of office, client and home based. They do not currently expect staff at a senior level to normally work more than two to three days in the office/at clients premises each week but this is dependent on the requirements of the client. Continued professional development using various specialist training providers for both external and in-house technical training. Through regular courses, all members of staff are kept up to date with changes in legislation, accounting standards and auditing techniques. In addition, they provide our staff with specialist technical courses and seminars relevant to the sectors they work in. Ongoing training offered covering a range of subjects including accounting, auditing and taxation issues affecting the not-for-profit sector.
