What will you do

As a Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in combining practical hands‑on engineering support with long‑term reliability and maintenance development. The successful candidate will work closely with both site teams and engineering colleagues to improve mechanical system performance, support operational troubleshooting, and help drive technical improvements across the UK sites.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and improve mechanical maintenance systems and practices across the UK fleet
  • Provide mechanical engineering support in connection with plant modifications, maintenance activities, and other critical operational interventions
  • Contribute to improvements in plant reliability, maintainability, and operational performance
  • Lead or participate as an expert in root cause analysis and similar investigations
  • Conduct technical surveys, inspections, condition assessments, and investigations to support reliability and maintenance improvements
  • Make sure all plans follow the agreed guidelines to the extent possible, and help clear any obstacles, impeding this
  • Prepare technical specifications, coordinate technical activities with contractors and suppliers, and support implementation of maintenance solutions

What do you bring to the field

Preferably, you hold a degree in mechanical engineering combined with practical experience from industrial plants, power generation, or similar operational environments. Ideally, you have experience working with mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, fault finding, and technical support within operating plants. Experience with CMMS, preventive and predictive maintenance and reliability centered maintenance strategies. Experience from power plants, utilities, process industry, marine, or offshore environments is highly relevant.

You are a self‑starter who takes initiative and works independently. You bring a structured and analytical approach to your work, while maintaining a practical and solution‑oriented mindset. You are comfortable working both from the office and on site and enjoy collaborating with both operational and engineering teams.

In addition, you hold:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work effectively in an international team environment and collaborate with UK site teams, the mechanical Engineering department in Denmark, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • A structured and organized approach to technical tasks and problem solving
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to support operational and technical challenges across the UK fleet
  • Willingness to travel to operating sites within the UK and occasionally internationally
