What will you do

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in combining practical hands‑on engineering support with long‑term reliability and maintenance development. The successful candidate will work closely with both our UK power plant site teams and engineering colleagues to improve electrical system performance, support operational troubleshooting, and help drive technical improvements across the UK fleet.

  • Support BWSC’s UK power plant sites with day‑to‑day electrical technical support
  • Develop and mature electrical maintenance systems across the UK fleet
  • Provide remote troubleshooting and technical support
  • Attend sites for fault finding, troubleshooting, inspections, and technical support activities
  • Provide on‑site electrical support during planned outages and major maintenance activities
  • Carry out technical site surveys and condition assessments
  • Support and drive electrical upgrade and modification projects across operating plants
  • Assist with technical specifications, contractor coordination, and implementation support
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of plant reliability, maintainability, and operational performance

What do you bring to the field

Preferably, you hold a degree in electrical engineering combined with practical experience from industrial plants, power generation, or similar operational environments. Ideally, you have experience working with electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, fault finding, and technical support within operating plants. Experience with LV/MV systems, switchgear, protection systems, generators and transformers. Experience from power plants, utilities, process industry, marine, or offshore environments is highly relevant.

You are a self‑starter who takes initiative and works independently. You bring a structured and analytical approach to your work, while maintaining a practical and solution‑oriented mindset. You are comfortable working both from the office and on site, and enjoy collaborating with both operational and engineering teams.

In addition, you hold:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work effectively in an international team environment and collaborate with UK site teams, the Electrical Engineering department in Denmark, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • A structured and organized approach to technical tasks and problem solving
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to support operational and technical challenges across the UK fleet
  • Willingness to travel to operating sites within the UK and occasionally internationally

Whilst working as a Senior Electrical Engineer at BWSC we offer a competitive starting salary of £75,000 depending on experience, and a great total reward package including:
