You are looking for a leadership role where you can take charge of all earned and owned media and marketing initiatives for well-known retail destinations and brands. You thrive in client-facing roles and have the skills and experience required to implement holistic earned & owned media strategies that build brand reputation, drive engagement, and amplify client visibility. You’re ready and able to play a key role in shaping the growth of a cross-functional team of Earned and Owned media specialists, to develop your career, and make a lasting impact.
Due to continued business growth, we are looking to recruit a Director of Earned & Owned Media based near Marlow to lead and oversee all non-paid media channels – including PR (traditional and digital media relations), owned content (blogs, newsletters, brand content), social media, influencer partnerships, experiential marketing and events.

As a new role for the agency, you have scope to make the role your own, but your key responsibilities will include:
- Strategic leadership and planning
- Work with department heads to develop and implement holistic earned & owned media strategies aligned with clients’ objectives and overall agency vision.
- Build integrated communications plans combining PR, content, social, influencer and experiential output in a coordinated way.
- Define annual/quarterly goals, KPIs, and success metrics; monitor performance across earned, owned and shared channels and use this data to optimise ongoing strategy and prove the value of earned and owned media.
- Leading and overseeing a cross-functional team of Earned and Owned media specialists
- Take ultimate accountability of non-paid media teams, work and performance.
- Lead, manage and oversee the teams responsible for: PR, Media & Influencer relations; Content and Owned Media; Social Media Strategy & Community / Engagement; Experiential, Activations & Event-based Marketing.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently to meet both client and agency objectives.
- Define team structure and roles; recruit and mentor team members; evaluate team performance; set clear responsibilities and expectations.
- Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
- Coordinate and collaborate with other agency leads to ensure integrated, coherent storytelling across all organic and earned touchpoints.
- Work closely with the Business Development Manager, Business Directors and Company Directors to ensure the growth of non-paid media channels and clients.
- Relationship building and growing your clients
- Develop and maintain strong personal relationships with senior client stakeholders so BWP is seen as a valued and respected member of their extended marketing team.
- Attend and present at client meetings and understand the bigger client picture.
- Liaise with clients, executives and external partners/stakeholders; advise on communications strategy, media positioning, influencer and experiential opportunities.
- Identify additional opportunities to grow margin and standing; sell in new projects and ideas to clients with passion and enthusiasm; work with colleagues to drive account growth.
For this senior role, we are looking for someone who has:
- 10+ years demonstrable experience building brand reputation, driving engagement, and amplifying client visibility.
- Proven track record of leading integrated earned & owned media campaigns across multiple clients/brands.
- Strong leadership and project management skills and is able to coordinate multiple campaigns, teams, stakeholders, budgets and timelines.
- Is comfortable handling crisis communications, reputation issues and reactive media situations.
- Has experience in experiential marketing or events.
- Is able to use data and insight to shape strategy, measure impact, present results to clients or senior execs.
- Is passionate about creating an environment where you and your colleagues thrive, develop and grow.
- Can be office-based in our Marlow office three days a week (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday).
