The AI Systems Executive delivers the AI initiatives and improvements that make BWP's AI and data systems work harder. Based in the Data & Insights team, you will apply and improve the tools behind client analysis, agency reporting and the quality of the information that powers both.
This is an operational, commercial and innovation-enablement role, not an innovation lab or a helpdesk. Its priority is to make BWP's existing AI systems more accurate, more consistently used and more valuable to the P&L. New tools will be developed where there is a clear business problem, an agreed owner and a measurable return.
This is a hands-on delivery role. The Data & Insights Manager sets the priorities and manages the backlog; you work through it and deliver. We also expect you to use your own initiative: spotting improvements, suggesting fixes and getting on with them within agreed priorities. That frees the team's senior time for leadership, and for the insight and commercial action clients need.
Day to day, you will:
- Improve what we already have. Keep our live AI tools, workflows, prompts and data sources accurate, current and documented.
- Deliver capacity-release projects. Build and improve tools such as the reporting robot, and show the time they save against a clear baseline.
- Work with our development partners. Brief, test and follow through on larger AI builds delivered by BWP's existing external developers.
You will work with teams across BWP: strategy and planning, digital and media, creative, operations and comms.
What you'll do
1. Deliver capacity-release projects
- Treat every new or improved tool, including the reporting robot, as a capacity-release project: record how long the task takes today and track results against a target agreed with the Data & Insights Manager.
- Take a brief, or work with a team to understand the problem, and turn it into a tool or workflow that works.
- Build and prototype workflows, agents and tools on BWP's approved enterprise platforms.
- Deliver each project on time and within the budget agreed for it, and flag early if either is at risk.
- Test with real users and real work before rollout, and hand over with simple documentation.
- Check after launch that the tool is creating time for better analysis, strategy and client outcomes, not just that it exists.
2. Track commercial return
- Track the effect of AI tools on time saved, recovery rates, output quality and revenue against agreed baselines.
- Produce regular, simple reporting on usage, performance and return for the Data & Insights Manager.
3. Maintain and improve AI and data systems
- Keep the register of AI tools, workflows, agents and prompts up to date: owner, purpose, users, data sources, model, version and status.
- Maintain the data sources, knowledge bases and documentation that underpin priority Data & Insights and AI workflows, ensuring they are accurate, current, traceable and fit for use.
- Run agreed tests and quality checks on priority tools, so we know when output improves or worsens.
- Refine prompts, instructions and agent logic based on evidence from usage, errors and user feedback.
- Keep an eye on model and platform updates from our providers and check whether they affect our tools.
- Flag tools that duplicate each other or are no longer used.
4. Share good practice across the agency
- Turn one-off wins into shared prompt libraries, templates and approved workflows.
- Log new requests into the backlog, and put forward your own ideas for improvement, for the Data & Insights Manager to prioritise.
- Help teams build tools into their everyday work, and produce short, practical guidance so people get the most from what already exists.
5. Work with our development partners
- Be the day-to-day contact for BWP's existing external development partners on larger AI builds.
- Brief them clearly on what is needed, test what they deliver against the brief, and feed back promptly.
- Keep builds on time and on budget, and flag delays, cost risks or problems early to the Data & Insights Manager.
- Make sure every build is handed over with documentation, so we can run it without relying on the developer.
6. Governance and data handling
- Apply BWP's data handling rules to every tool you work on, including client confidentiality and the use of enterprise-grade platforms only.
- Check tools are being used within those rules and flag any issues straight away.
- Keep a record of each tool's known limitations and make sure users understand them.
What success looks like
In your first 90 days, you'll get up to speed on our AI tools, data sources and development partners, get the tool register complete and up to date, and deliver a couple of quick, visible improvements to tools people use every day.
By the end of your first year, our AI tools will be releasing measurable time against their targets, and you'll be showing how that time turns into better analysis, client work and commercial return. Priority tools and data sources will be accurate, tested and documented, builds will be landing on time and on budget, and you'll be reporting regularly on usage, performance and return.
About you
You are technically capable, analytical and practical. You can take a brief, or work out what is needed from a problem, and deliver something that works.

- Working knowledge of Python or another scripting language, APIs, automation tools and visualisation tools such as Power BI.

- An understanding of data protection as it applies to AI, and the sense to flag when something does not look right.
- Organised and reliable: you work through a backlog, keep people updated and finish what you start.
- Self-starting: you spot problems and opportunities and act on them without waiting to be asked. The ability to explain technical things plainly to non-technical colleagues.

- Experience producing guidance or training for colleagues.
LOVE: Living our Values Everyday
At BWP, our values shape how we collaborate, support each other and work with our clients, and they set the standards we hold ourselves to. They're also part of how we recruit, onboard, give feedback, review probation and help everyone develop.
Our values set the standards we expect from everyone at BWP:
- We strive to make a positive and IMPACTFUL difference in everything you do β whether that's delivering great work for clients, supporting colleagues or helping your accounts and the agency grow.
- We are genuinely PASSIONATE about marketing, great client work and getting the best from yourself and those around you β while bringing energy, enthusiasm and a sense of fun to agency life.
- We aren't afraid to question a brief, share an idea or suggest a better way of doing things β showing a BRAVE mindset in the way you think, work and communicate.
- We are approachable, supportive and genuinely HUMAN in the way you work with clients and colleagues β building trusted relationships and treating people with respect, fairness and empathy.
As part of our 2026 ambition, we're putting a particular focus on Accountability and Kindness: taking responsibility for our actions, being honest when things don't go as planned, and treating each other with respect, fairness and empathy, especially when things are difficult.
We also love to recognise the people who bring our values to life. Our monthly Star of the Month scheme celebrates colleagues who make a positive difference to the people around them and show what our values look like in action.
