Looking for a compliance role where you'll be trusted, valued and genuinely part of the firm's success? We're working with an ambitious and growing specialist boutique Real Estate law firm that is looking to appoint an experienced AML, KYC and Compliance Officer to play a key role in protecting the business while supporting its continued expansion. This is a fully remote opportunity where you'll work alongside an experienced MLRO, Finance Director and a team of qualified lawyers, giving you real exposure to an interesting and at times complex UK and international property transactions.
The Role
- You'll be responsible for ensuring the firm maintains the highest standards of regulatory compliance, carrying out robust client due diligence and supporting lawyers throughout the client onboarding process.
- Conducting AML and KYC checks for UK and international clients.
- Reviewing complex ownership structures, trusts and corporate entities.
- Carrying out source of funds and source of wealth investigations.
- Assessing and escalating higher-risk matters where appropriate.
- Supporting the MLRO with compliance monitoring and regulatory requirements.
- Advising lawyers on AML regulations and best practice.
- Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and compliance obligations.
- Assisting with policy development, audits and internal compliance projects.
- Working closely with the Finance Director to ensure robust financial compliance procedures.
About You
- We're looking for someone who enjoys problem solving, has excellent attention to detail and is confident communicating with legal professionals at every level.
- You’ll ideally have previous AML, KYC or Compliance experience within a law firm.
- A strong understanding of UK Money Laundering Regulations.
- Experience dealing with property or real estate transactions would be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of international client due diligence and enhanced due diligence processes.
- Excellent organisational skills and the confidence to challenge where necessary.
- A proactive, commercial and collaborative approach.
