I am recruiting for two hires into an established London based surety team, with flexibility to appoint either a Senior Surety Underwriter or a Surety Underwriter depending on experience level. These roles sit firmly within contract surety, focusing on contractor related risks including performance bonds, advance payment bonds, and wider bonded facilities.
Surety is a core line for this team, supported by an existing portfolio, active broker relationships, and a long term commitment to the class. This is not a processing role. You will be involved in true underwriting work, including analysing contractor financials, reviewing work in progress, assessing indemnity structures, and shaping the structure and terms of bond facilities.
The role involves regular interaction with brokers and participation in live case discussions, giving you strong market exposure. At Senior level, the focus will be on handling more complex and higher value cases, supporting underwriting decisions across the portfolio, and helping to guide the development of the book.
For those at Underwriter level, this is an opportunity to step into a broader and more visible role, with exposure to more complex risks and a clear pathway towards senior responsibility over time. We are looking specifically for genuine surety specialists with contract surety experience. This is not aimed at generalist underwriters or candidates whose background is purely in trade credit or other financial lines without hands on exposure to construction and contractor bonds.
If you are a contract surety underwriter who enjoys the technical side of the class and wants to be part of a team where surety is a real focus, apply below.
