I’m working on a really interesting fixed term opportunity for a senior LDI professional to step into a high impact team leadership role within a well regarded investment business. This is a 9-month contract, leading a specialist team focused on LDI structuring and delivery for UK pension scheme clients. It is a genuinely senior role with a strong technical bias, so I’m keen to speak with individuals who can combine deep liability hedging expertise with the ability to lead, review and guide a high performing team.
The role will involve overseeing the design and evaluation of hedging solutions, supporting implementation activity, reviewing modelling and report output, and acting as the go-to specialist for LDI matters both internally and in front of clients. There is also a people leadership element, so this would suit someone comfortable managing a team while still staying close to the technical detail.
I’d be particularly interested in speaking with candidates who bring:
- Strong LDI structuring and liability hedging experience
- A detailed understanding of derivatives and UK pension liabilities
- Experience with liability benchmark design and methodology
- A background in investment consultancy, pension solutions, or LDI fund management
- The credibility to operate as a senior technical specialist with both colleagues and clients
- Previous team leadership or oversight experience
- Actuarial or CFA qualification
This is likely to suit someone already operating at Senior Manager, Director or Team Lead level within an LDI, de-risking, or pension solutions environment. It is not a broad investment consulting role.
