I’m working with a prestigious UHNW wealth manager looking to appoint a senior Portfolio Director as part of continued growth across the North. This is a brilliant opportunity for a relationship-led investment professional/private banker who enjoys building long-term client relationships, originating new business and playing a visible role in regional growth.

The firm has an excellent reputation in the private client market, with the backing of a global investment group and access to deep investment resource, wealth planning, lending and family office capability. This would suit someone who is commercially minded, ambitious and keen to make a genuine impact within a high-quality platform.

The role will involve:

  • Building and developing relationships with HNW/UHNW clients, families, entrepreneurs and/or charities
  • Originating new business through personal networks, professional introducers and client referrals
  • Managing and growing a portfolio of private client relationships
  • Working closely with investment, planning, lending and wider specialist teams
  • Helping to strengthen the firm’s presence across the North
  • Taking a proactive role in business development, events and regional market engagement

The ideal profile:

  • Senior wealth management, investment management or private banking background
  • Strong relationship management and client acquisition experience
  • CISI Level 6/7 Qualified
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with HNW/UHNW clients
  • Well-connected across the North of England, ideally Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Cheshire or wider North West/Yorkshire
  • Investment credibility and confidence discussing markets and portfolio solutions with clients
  • Ambitious, entrepreneurial and comfortable developing new opportunities

This is not purely a “bring a book on day one” type opportunity. The firm is much more focused on someone with strong business development ability, a credible network and the appetite to build something meaningful over time.

A highly competitive package is available for the right individual, with flexibility depending on experience and track record. If you’re a senior Relationship Manager, Investment Director, Wealth Manager or Private Banker who would be open to a confidential conversation, please get in touch.
