About the Role

Do you have proven experience of working in a busy warehouse that is looking for a new challenge? BWC Profiles are looking for a warehouse assistant to join the team at their head office in Crownhill, Milton Keynes. As warehouse assistant you will support the warehouse supervisor in the receipt, handling, inspection, safe storage, movement and picking of all stock that comes in and out of the business.

What you will be doing:

  • Responsibility for ensuring all incoming goods are booked in, put away, and stock levels adjusted accordingly.
  • Ensure all goods are put away in the correct locations.
  • You will ensure that all goods going out of the business are collated and shipped according to the manifests.
  • All requests from the production team are picked and prepared ready for job allocation.
  • You will be responsible for reporting any stock level concerns to the production team and conducting regular checks to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
  • Help, create and participate in safe working practices.
  • Ensure all waste is handled correctly with adherence to sustainable work practices.
  • Challenge non-conformance and participate in any counter measures.
  • Participate in basic preventative maintenance to ensure all lifting equipment is in line with safe working practices and operating instructions.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling.
  • Ensure all goods coming in, put away, picked and in correct locations efficiently as per timescales.
  • From time to time you will be required to support with deliveries by safely operating a commercial van to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance reporting any mechanical issues or damage.
  • Ability to interpret delivery and picking notes.
  • Communicate with colleagues, third parties and customers to coordinate deliveries and address any issues or concerns.

What we are looking for:

  • You will have proven experience of working in a warehouse and working practices.
  • You will hold valid forklift truck licences which include counterbalance, and high capacity forklift trucks.
  • Clean driving licence with at least Category B.
  • Good knowledge of computer packages.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - both verbal and face to face - to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle inspections.

Other Information:

This role is office based at our Head Office in Crownhill and is full time: 0700 - 1700 Mon - Thu, 0700 - 1600 Fridays.
