What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the technical delivery of design tasks and activities.
- Preparing and/or checking/approving detailed technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications.
- Developing designs from concept stage through to detailed design, implementing workflow, design processes and best practices.
- Supporting the technical and professional development of team members.
- Communicating directly with clients and other stakeholders.
- Contributing to the resource management of the team and the development and delivery of the business strategy.
- Ensuring the team complies with relevant standards, regulations and project briefs as well as BWB’s Quality Management System.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels, both internally and externally.
- Proven experience in engaging directly with clients and stakeholders through face‑to‑face interactions.
- Expertise in translating complex engineering concepts and solutions into clear, understandable information for non‑technical audiences.
- Experience working on projects across National Highway, Network Rail, local highway authorities, and private developments.
- Proficiency in developing designs from initial concept through to detailed design, ensuring a seamless transition across project stages.
- Skilled in preparing comprehensive technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications with attention to detail.
- Ability to implement efficient workflows, design processes, and best practices to enhance project outcomes.
- Strong background in quality management, ensuring all work complies with relevant standards, regulations, and project briefs.
- Experience leading smaller projects and managing tasks or activities within larger projects.
- Competent in contributing to project scheduling and resource planning.
