BWB Consulting is seeking a Graduate Building Physics Consultant to join our award-winning team in Leeds. The role is primarily based in Leeds, with occasional travel across the UK and to other BWB offices. You will support the delivery of low-energy, high-performance building design through technical analysis, modelling, and sustainability consultancy. Working alongside experienced professionals and multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to operational energy modelling, thermal comfort and overheating assessments, daylight analysis, and building performance optimisation using IES-VE software. The role also involves assisting with technical reports, energy strategies, BREEAM documentation, and NABERS UK assessments, while developing expertise in sustainable, performance-led building design and operational carbon reduction.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support building performance analysis and dynamic simulation modelling using IES-VE and other industry-standard software.
  • Assist with operational energy, thermal comfort, overheating, daylight, and sustainability assessments to support low-energy building design.
  • Contribute to compliance modelling, energy strategies, technical reports, and certification processes including BREEAM and NABERS UK.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary design teams to help deliver sustainable, high-performance buildings while developing technical expertise in building physics and simulation methods.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree qualified (BSc/MSc) in Building Physics, Architectural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Sustainable Design, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant academic, internship, or placement experience in building physics, sustainability, or building performance analysis, including energy modelling, thermal comfort, and daylight studies.
  • Familiarity with technical reporting, compliance modelling, and energy assessment methods such as SAP, SBEM, and EPCs is desirable.
  • Strong collaborative skills with an interest in professional development and working towards industry accreditations such as CIBSE, BREEAM, or NABERS UK.
