What you’ll be doing
- Data collection and analysis, assisting in gathering and assessing environmental data to support processes and identify mitigation to make a positive difference.
- Client interaction to engage with key project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and understanding of project requirements.
- Research and innovation to stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to contribute innovative ideas and solutions.
- Work collaboratively, inputting into projects across the BWB Offices.
- Progress towards Chartered status membership of a relevant professional body, such as IEMA, with support from the business.
What you’ll bring
- Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, geography or a related field or related subject.
- Familiarity with local, regional, and national environmental regulations and laws applicable to EIA processes.
- Understanding of sustainability principles and the ability to integrate them into environmental impact assessments.
- Ability to identify potential environmental issues and propose effective solutions or mitigation measures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information in reports and interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for assessing the potential environmental impacts of projects.
- Well organised and able to prioritise workload independently.
- Strong communication skills and can work effectively either individually or as part of a team.
- Willingness to conduct fieldwork, site visits, and environmental assessments.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft packages (including Outlook, Word, Excel and Publisher).
- Experience in using GIS and AutoCAD packages would be advantageous but not essential.
- Willingness to travel and a full driving license are essential.
