What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the technical delivery of design tasks and activities.
  • Preparing and/or checking and approving detailed technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications.
  • Developing designs from concept stage through to detailed design, implementing workflow, design processes and best practices.
  • Supporting the technical and professional development of team members.
  • Communicating directly with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the resource management of the team; contributing to the development and delivery of the business strategy.
  • Ensuring the team complies with relevant standards, regulations and project briefs as well as BWB’s Quality Management System.

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Proven experience in engaging directly with clients and stakeholders through face‑to‑face interactions.
  • Expertise in translating complex engineering concepts and solutions into clear, understandable information for non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience working on projects across National Highway, Network Rail, local highway authorities and private developments.
  • Proficiency in developing designs from initial concept through to detailed design, ensuring a seamless transition across project stages.
  • Skilled in preparing comprehensive technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications with attention to detail.
  • Ability to implement efficient workflows, design processes and best practices to enhance project outcomes.
  • Strong background in quality management, ensuring all work complies with relevant standards, regulations and project briefs.
  • Experience leading smaller projects and managing tasks or activities within larger projects.
  • Competent in contributing to project scheduling and resource planning.
  • Committed to supporting the technical and professional growth of team members through mentoring and guidance.
  • Actively contribute to the development and execution of the company's strategic goals.
