BW Workplace Experts is seeking a Senior Pitch / Technical Designer and a Graphic / Bid designer to join their Design & Build team. Both roles report directly to the head of Design and are key to the success of the team as they go through an exciting period of growth and take on new projects.

Role and Responsibilities of a Senior Pitch Designer:

  • Creating Design Proposals for Tender Submissions: The Senior Pitch Designer is responsible for developing creative and technical design proposals for tender submissions. This involves interpreting the client's needs, understanding the project scope, and producing design concepts that demonstrate the company's capabilities. They must create clear, visually appealing, and functional designs that meet the project’s requirements while adhering to any budget or regulatory constraints.

Role and Responsibilities of a Graphic/Bid Designer:

  • Designing Tender and Bid Materials: Create high-quality, visually engaging design materials for the bid submission. This can include:
  • Tender documents: Formatting and designing the layout of tender proposals to ensure clarity, professionalism, and alignment with the company’s branding.
  • Graphics and Illustrations: Creating infographics, diagrams, charts, and visual aids to support technical or commercial content and to help communicate complex information more clearly.
  • Presentation Slides: Designing compelling presentation decks for pitch meetings, ensuring the design effectively communicates the company's capabilities, approach, and value proposition.

Roles and Responsibilities included with both roles:

  • Branding and Consistency: Ensuring that all design elements align with the company’s branding guidelines. They ensure that the tone, colors, and style used in bid documents reflect the company’s image, giving the submission a professional and cohesive look. They may also create bespoke templates for different types of bid submissions to streamline the process and ensure consistency across all proposals.
  • Collaboration with the Bid Team: They work closely with project managers, estimators, and commercial teams to ensure the design aligns with the overall strategy and objectives of the pitch. They collaborate with the design consultants, architects, and other professionals to integrate all elements of the project, making sure the design is viable from both a technical and financial perspective.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement: A key part of the role is understanding the client’s brief and vision for the project. They may engage with clients during early project discussions, helping to shape design solutions based on the client’s needs, aspirations, and budget. They also present design proposals during pitch meetings, clearly communicating the design's benefits and feasibility.
  • Design Presentation: They are responsible for the quality and presentation of design visuals (e.g., concept sketches, 3D renders, mood boards, design boards). These visuals are often used in pitch presentations to showcase the design ideas and win the project. They also prepare design-related documentation and information that will be included in the bid package, such as technical details, materials, and design specifications.
  • Design Innovation and Differentiation: They need to bring innovative and unique design concepts to the table that can differentiate their company from competitors. This often means finding ways to integrate cost-effective and sustainable solutions that add value to the client’s project while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
