Joining our established team in Doncaster, the Mechanical Engineer will assist with the release and maintenance of the current product offering, integration of new products to the Doncaster portfolio and provide bespoke innovative solutions to meet customer needs, in alignment with the Engineering Excellence strategy within the "BW Way" business system.
Responsibilities:
- Modelling and detailing of machined, fabricated, sheet metal parts and assemblies
- Specification of drive and pneumatic systems
- Producing design calculations, P&ID’s and other supporting documentation
- Update facility layout drawings to an as-supplied state and create new ones if required
- Ensure that engineering output complies with relevant Directives and Harmonised standards; perform design risk assessments
- Upload detailed BOMs to the ERP system and release for manufacture
- Create customer documentation that accurately reflects the equipment supplied
Qualifications:
- +5 years engineering/design experience within packaging or special purpose machinery sectors
- HNC/HND or higher qualification in mechanical engineering (helpful)
- Proficient in SolidWorks 2020; AutoCAD experience
- Experience in robotic end-of-arm tooling design (advantageous)
Additional Details:
- Occasional UK/international travel to customers and other Barry-Wehmiller locations may be required
- Flexibility to work overtime on evenings and weekends when needed
