We are looking for a time‑served electrician that will be responsible for ensuring that our equipment and machinery is wired to a high standard, within expected timelines. The role contributes to an exceptional customer experience by achieving our operational excellence goals, driving continuous improvement, promoting teamwork, and acting in line with the company’s policies and values.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1974, current legislation and BWIS company policies & procedures.
  • Assembly and wire control panel back plates, mount electrical field wiring components, and manage cables to customer specification & BW Packaging standards.
  • Read and interpret electrical wiring and schematic diagrams, bills of material and specifications.
  • Perform Earth, Rotation, I/O checks on control panel & machine wiring; fault‑find prior to handover to Controls Engineer.
  • Sign off worksheet to confirm quality checks have been completed.
  • Assist with the electrical maintenance of the facility.
  • Provide guidance and support to electrical contractors when required.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to apprentices and other assembly team members to increase their skills and knowledge base.
  • Support the integration of new product lines adopted by BW Packaging.
  • Clean and organise all equipment and work areas, ensuring they are always free from hazards and customer‑ready.
  • Be available and have flexibility to work overtime on evenings and weekends if or when required.
  • Attend training courses to support duties and development.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience as an electrician, preferably in an engineering background.
  • Education in a relevant engineering discipline, Advanced NVQ Level 3 or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time‑management skills.
  • Basic computer skills in Excel and Word.
  • A self‑starter with a ‘can do’ flexible attitude.
  • Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
  • Drive and determination to succeed.
