The position
We are currently seeking for aSenior HSSE Engineer to join BW Offshore Asset Operations team. This role will be based in the Aberdeen office.
You are responsible for
- Develops and maintains HSSE procedures and forms for the FPSO and in country operational office(s)
- As appropriate, approves or rejects Management of Change and Deviation Requests from an HSSE perspective
- Participates in HAZIDs, HAZOPs and facilitate safety studies updates
- Ownership and responsibility of the Vessel Safety Case
- Collaborate with other disciplines on SECE Performance Standards review, update and development
- Reviews incident reports and assists in identifying direct, indirect and root causes and actions to enable effective close-outs
- Leads or participates in Incident Investigations.
- Responsible for provision of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental advice and support to FPSO and in country operational offices
- Represents BW Offshore with consultants, authorities, and clients on HSSE matters when required
- Responsible to monitor UK operational compliance to internal and relevant national and international HSSE standards and legislation
Education and experience
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Environmental, Technical, Marine or ProcessEngineering
- Formal qualifications in health and safety management, long relevant experience may replace formal qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in offshore FPSO industry
- Working knowledge of UK HSE Standards and legislation
- Experience in Safety case management
- Previous work experience in UK Offshore oil and gas sector in an Operational / HSE role is preferred
- Procedures and documentation development and review
- Internal and vendor prequalification auditing
- Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality aspects in an operational environment
- Classification Society and Flag State rules and regulations, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, etc.
