As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be working in our experienced IT Operations Team providing first, second and third-line user support for all of our internal tools and technologies. Beyond the day-to-day, you'll be part of a team that contributes to longer-term technical projects, process improvement and the documentation efforts that help make BW Legal a leader in its field.

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing bespoke support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications and operating systems
  • Providing basic technical support at network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls and security
  • Implementing basic remote access solutions and providing support on Citrix
  • Collaborating with experienced colleagues to build and maintain an Azure cloud platform
  • Liaising with our IT Development and Business Change teams to ensure newly built technologies can be tested and smoothly implemented into the business
  • Ensuring any IT support changes required are documented and implemented to ensure we deliver the best performance for the new technology
  • Monitoring the remote management system alerts and notifications, responding accordingly through service tickets
  • Managing and maintaining BW Legal's approach to network security, including monitoring industry news and ensuring all platforms are protected
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders as required, keeping them informed of incident progress, as well as notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
  • Paid out-of-hours support rota (typically 1 week per month)
  • Monthly patching updates (typically 6 hours on a Sunday once per month, paid at an overtime rate)

We ask you to have the following skills and experience:

  • Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems and network systems
  • Technical awareness, as well as the ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
  • Advanced knowledge of firewalls and security (ideally Fortinet)
  • Advanced knowledge of networks - LAN/WAN/routers (ideally Meraki and Dell)
  • Advanced knowledge of Storage Arrays (ideally Dell PowerStore)
  • Windows Server (ideally 2022/2025)
  • Linux (ideally Ubuntu)
  • VMWare
  • Kubernetes
  • Microsoft Azure Platform
  • Windows 11
  • Active Directory
  • SQL Server (ideally 2022)
  • MS Exchange (ideally 2019)

You will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am and 4pm, with some flexibility required for ongoing projects and early/late holiday cover.

With a starting salary of between £32,000 to £37,000 depending on your experience, IT Infrastructure Engineer colleagues enjoy regular performance-based reviews which reward their success with a clear progression path for future earnings.
