Job Overview

We’re looking for an ambitious Junior Paralegal with 6–12 months’ legal experience, a proactive mindset, and a genuine drive to build a successful career in law. If you’re ready to develop your skills in a supportive, high‑performing environment, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll start on £20,000, with annual salary reviews and pay increases linked to performance.

About the role

As a Junior Paralegal, you’ll help manage a high‑volume shared caseload across both non‑contested and contested matters. You’ll work closely with experienced team members and under the supervision of solicitors, giving you the chance to build your legal knowledge, strengthen your technical skills, and develop confidence in case strategy from day one.

What you will be doing

  • Managing written, email, and telephone correspondence with customers, clients, courts, and third parties.
  • Reviewing and progressing non‑contested matters that fall outside standard processes.
  • Conducting initial case assessments and determining the appropriate course of action for contested matters.
  • Preparing for and attending Small Claims mediation hearings by telephone.
  • Logging and assessing Part Admissions and claims brought against clients.
  • Carrying out second‑line checks on outstanding evidence requests or client queries.
  • Handling technical queries from other departments.
  • Drafting documentation for the Land Registry and managing cases post‑charge redemption.
  • Reviewing cases where a Defence has been struck out to determine suitability for County Court Judgment.
  • Drafting Letters of Claim in compliance with the Debt Pre‑Action Protocol (Commercial Debts).

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone with 6‑12 months of experience in a legal setting, ideally where you’ve been involved in responsibilities such as:

  • Handling client and third‑party correspondence
  • Supporting litigation or casework
  • Drafting legal documents
  • Preparing cases for hearings or mediation

This experience may have come from a law firm, in‑house legal team, or another relevant legal environment. What matters most is that you’re comfortable with the type of work you’ll be doing day to day in this role.

Skills and experience

  • A degree in Law (or equivalent), or currently studying towards one
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C / 4 or above
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to record information accurately
  • Confidence working under pressure and managing multiple priorities
  • Clear and professional communication skills to keep stakeholders informed
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant legal procedures (desirable)

Your working week

  • 30 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Shift hours will be 10am – 4pm
  • Opportunities for overtime during the week, paid at your standard hourly rate
  • Opportunities for Saturday overtime, paid a rate of time and a quarter
