POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Receptionist acts as a shift leader at the front door, supporting the General Manager in delivering a flawless first and last impression. You will manage complex bookings, oversee the pacing of the dining room, and ensure junior receptionists are delivering warm, polished, and efficient service to all guests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guest Journey: Act as the lead host during service, ensuring guests are greeted warmly, coats are checked efficiently, and seating is prompt.
- Reservation Strategy: Expertly navigate the reservation system (e.g., SevenRooms) to maximize covers, accommodate walk-ins, and manage waitlists effectively.
- VIP Management: Recognise and cater to returning guests, VIPs, and high-profile diners, ensuring their specific needs and preferences are flawlessly executed.
- Team Guidance: Train and mentor junior reception staff, ensuring adherence to company grooming, communication, and operational standards.
- Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities and similar tasks as requested by management to support the smooth operation of the business.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Host/Hostess in a premium or high-volume hospitality environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine love for guest service.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to multitask under pressure.
- Confident handling reservations, booking systems, and guest interactions.
- A calm, friendly presence who thrives in a dynamic team setting.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
