Are you a Finance Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk, with around 1 - 2 years experience (or more) looking for your next challenge? Are you keen to work in the finance team of a medium size accountancy firm that specialises in working with high profile Media, Creative, Film & TV clients?

Based in a growing firm and reporting to the Finance Partner, you will be responsible for the day to day processing of the firms financial transactions and client account services. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Uploading bank entries onto the system
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Monthly reconciliations of petty cash card accounts and company credit cards
  • Processing invoices
  • Taking client card payments
  • Uploading client payments to the bank
  • Processing and arranging payment of employee expense claims
  • Maintaining the purchase ledger, including the processing and posting of supplier invoices
  • Preparation of supplier payment runs, and reconciliation within the accounting system
  • Reconciliation of client accounts
  • Preparing payment files for upload to the bank, ensuring all payments are appropriately authorised and supported by accurate documentation
  • Performing monthly client account reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies
  • Assisting the finance manager with management accounts and VAT returns
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

The firm uses CCH software so experience of this would be beneficial. The firm offers flexible working and allows all staff to work one day a week from home and also offers flexible start and finish times. The firm will also offer study support for the AAT and / or ACCA professional qualifications if required.

To be considered for this interesting and newly created position due to rapid growth, you must be a Finance Assistant or Purchase Ledger Clerk with 1 to 2 years experience minimum. You must either currently be working in industry and looking for your next challenge, or you will be working in practice in a client facing role and looking to move into your first internal finance position.

You must possess fast and accurate data processing skills, work to high standards, be able to meet tight deadlines, have a sense of humour and be a team player. Experience of a range of software packages would be an advantage.
