Are you currently a Finance Manager / Senior Management Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper who has experience, or a strong interest in, working internally for a medium-sized Top 50 accountancy firm based in an easily accessible location in Central London? Are you keen to work internally in the firm's finance team and manage their overall finance function?
Do you either have experience already working in industry or are you working in practice and looking to make your first move into an internal finance role? Are you looking to work for a friendly and relaxed, yet highly professional firm of 100 staff where you will have a varied, challenging and interesting role and report directly to the Partners / owners of the business? Are you also keen to manage and grow a small finance team?
Based in a newly created role your role will be varied and hands-on. You will be responsible for controlling and maintaining all financial areas of the practice, duties to include:
- Preparation of the firms monthly management accounts
- VAT returns
- Cash management
- General ledger postings
- Payment runs
- Various reconciliations
- Monthly profit and loss account preparation and trial balance analysis
- Cashflows, budgets and month-end journals
You will also be responsible for assisting with the firms annual account preparations, plus be responsible for any ad hoc work as required. You will also be responsible for areas such as reviewing and improving internal controls, systems, processes and procedures and improving the firms overall efficiency and profitability.
Your role will be high profile, varied and highly rewarding and you will be given the opportunity to really make your mark on this growing firm. The firm offers flexi working arrangements including working at least twice a week from home. The firm would also consider if someone wants to work part-time, 4 days a week instead of 5 days.
To be considered for this new role (August 2022) you can either be ACA or ACCA qualified or qualified by experience. It's likely you will either already be working in industry and looking for your next challenge, or you will be working in practice and looking to make your first move into an internal finance role.
You must have strong technical and communication skills, be a team player as well as being able to work by yourself and work to tight deadlines. You will report directly to the owners of the business and also be responsible for many ad hoc projects. The role will have a great work-life balance and won't have long hours.
Experience of Iris Star Practice Management System and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central software is desirable but training can be provided so not essential.
