Job Purpose
- This medium size accountancy firm based in a prime location in Central London is looking for a new Accounts & Personal Tax Assistant Manager with between 12 months and 3 years PQE to join their busy and growing accountancy and business services department.
- The aim is to provide first class accountancy and tax services to a wide range of clients, most from the Film, TV, Theatre, Creative, Media, Sport and Entertainment sectors.
- Examples of clients include very high profile actors, actresses, film & tv producers, directors and screen writers.
- Most clients will be small to medium in size but will include some groups and international companies, many from the US.
- Client exposure will be almost 100% Film, TV, Creative and Media based.
- This high profile role can be tailored to suit the candidate – it can be anything up to 70% personal tax based or split evenly 50 / 50 between statutory accounts based work and personal tax.

Responsibilities
- Your role will be varied and include managing your own portfolio of clients, and ensuring all clients are serviced to a high standard.
- Reviewing sole trader accounts for entertainment clients prepared by other staff members.
- The preparation of more complex FRS 102 statutory accounts from start to finish and drafting corporation tax returns
- Business Management duties for a range of high profile media and entertainment based clients.
- Preparation of personal tax returns for sole traders and company directors, as well as Making Tax Digital (MTD) returns.
- Delivery of overseas tax compliance work for international clients from countries such as the United States and Australia (full training on this will be provided).
- Managing and training more junior staff members, as well as helping with ad hoc assignments and projects to help the team where necessary.
- Training and support will be provided where necessary so you can complete your role to the highest possible standards.
Requirements
- Fully ACA or ACCA qualified with between 12 months and 3 years post qualification experience.
- Currently working as a Senior, Supervisor or Assistant Manager in a good quality accountancy firm.
- Experience of preparing statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, personal tax returns as well as reviewing work for Partner review is required.
- Experience of cloud based software packages such as Xero.
- Looking to become a full Manager within 18 months to 2 years, with full training and support provided.
- A desire to learn, progress and do well in a medium size accountancy firm based in Zone 1 Central London.
- A desire to carry out and progress in a role which will be mixed between mainly statutory accounts and personal taxation.
