We are looking to add to the team at Herringbone with vacancies at different levels in a Relief role.
This helps to support our kitchens, maintain exceptional standards, and help deliver outstanding food every day.
This isn't your typical relief role.
We are looking for someone who is adaptable, organised and confident enough to step into any kitchen position, from Junior Sous Chef right through to Head Chef, ensuring every service runs smoothly and every guest leaves impressed.
Working across our Herringbone venues, you will become a trusted member of the team, supporting holidays, new openings, recruitment, business needs and peak trading periods.
One day you could be leading a brigade, the next coaching junior chefs or helping launch exciting new menus.
- What you will be doing
- Supporting Herringbone kitchens wherever you're needed.
- Taking responsibility for your sections, whether covering a Junior Sous, Sous or Head Chef role.
- Supporting & leading kitchen teams to deliver exceptional food quality and consistency.
- Coaching, developing and motivating chefs at every level.
- Maintaining the highest food safety, allergen and compliance standards.
- Managing ordering, stock control, GP and kitchen performance when required.
- Working closely with General Managers and Operations Chefs to ensure every kitchen performs at its best.
- Helping embed Buzzworks standards, culture and ways of working across every venue.
- Being part of exciting growth projects and new opportunities as the business continues to expand.
What we're looking for
- Experience as a Junior Sous Chef, Sous or Head Chef in a high‑volume, fresh food environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with new teams.
- Passion for producing consistently high-quality food.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing labour, food costs and stock.
- Calm under pressure with the confidence to make decisions and lead from the front.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between Herringbone locations.
