Attention all chefs! This role can be based East or West Coast, £45000 per annum. As a Relief Chef, you will play a key role in assisting the Operational Executive Chef in overseeing the day-to-day operations across multiple venues.
This dynamic role will see you supporting the development of both people and performance, contributing to menu design, learning more about the financials, and providing solutions to operational challenges.

Your role will cover:
- Operational Support: Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to ensure efficient kitchen operations across all venues. Assist in staff training, development, and performance management to ensure team cohesion and productivity. Help oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food, ensuring consistency and high standards.
- Menu Design & Development: Work alongside the Culinary team to create and modify menus that align with business objectives and guest expectations. Contribute creative ideas to the development of new dishes, ensuring they are cost-effective, sustainable, and high quality.
- Financial Management: Dive into costings and financials related to menu planning, ensuring that food costs remain within budget and maximise profitability. Learn and manage financial systems used to track food costs, labour, and other key operational expenses. Help identify opportunities to reduce waste and optimise resource use across all venues.
- Problem-Solving & Operational Excellence: Address challenges that arise in daily operations, from supply chain issues to staffing needs. Proactively provide solutions to ensure smooth operations. Act as a flexible problem-solver, adapting to changing circumstances and stepping in wherever needed across venues.
- People & Performance Management: Support team performance by helping identify training and development needs. Assist in the recruitment, mentoring, and development of kitchen staff, helping them grow in their roles and achieve career progression. Provide feedback and guidance to ensure all staff maintain high standards and productivity.
