The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Our trusted team of just over 30 people, including 4 Partners, work with individuals and their structures on some of the biggest financial decisions that they may face. The core of our work focuses on advising on the assets of an individual, family or business, and assessing the opportunities available to them, minimising their liability. Many of our clients use Buzzacott for other services; there is the opportunity to work closely and build relationships with your colleagues in other teams around the firm and within our PrimeGlobal association.
As an ATT qualified Trusts Consultant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of various trusts and supporting the team in delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services to clients. Sitting within the wider private client team, you will be offered further study support, working towards the CTA qualification. In addition, this is a great opportunity for someone to learn and develop, whilst deepening their trusts experience, being part of this well-established team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing trust accounts, tax returns, capital gains tax computations, historic offshore trust catch up calculations, IHT returns and other tax compliance work.
- To assist Partners/Directors and Managers with planning and other ad hoc assignments ensuring all compliance issues are dealt with efficiently.
- In conjunction with the manager group, assist with responding to all HMRC enquiries, liaising with clients and or other team members who will prepare draft responses for your review.
- To assist with the technical and professional development of more junior team members.
- Attending external networking events to represent the firm.
- Assist with the technical training and professional development of more junior members of the team, including monitoring of their work and progress and helping resolve any problems and difficulties encountered.
What you’ll bring:
- ATT Qualified
- Proven experience working in a similar role
- Trust Tax knowledge; familiarity with income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax and how this is applied to UK trusts
- Analytically minded with sound attention to detail
- Ability and desire to train and develop other team members and act as a role model within the team
- The CTA or STEP qualification is beneficial but not essential. We’re happy to support the right candidate in pursuing either qualification to further their professional development.
- High level of knowledge of MS Office Suite; supporting a paperless office
- Knowledge of CCH Trust Accounts/CCH Gains/Digita (desirable)
