The Software Development Manager will be expected to operate at the Skills for the Information Age (SFIA) Development and Implementation discipline, Level 4/5 in order to provide additional development resource to the Technology team to support our growing business needs and requirements. The role combines aspects of technical leadership, project management and team building.
Responsibilities
- Build client-focused, next-generation web applications
- Support full-stack web development by applying agile methodologies for sprint planning, design sessions, development, testing, and deployment
- Oversee diverse, cohesive teams for high-quality delivery to clients
- Design, develop, test, and enhance software solutions
- Developing and implementing software development strategies, setting objectives, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
- Develop web applications using a variety of languages and technologies
- Setting performance expectations and collaborating with team members to define and implement solutions
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality software through the implementation of quality assurance processes and the coordination of testing efforts
Qualifications
- Formal education in software development such as a Degree or relevant qualification
- Strong understanding of software development principles, methodologies, and technologies
- Demonstrable experience in software development and quality assurance
- Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a team, as well as communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Familiarity with Angular, Polymer, Closure Library, or Backbone
- Good understanding of full-stack web, including protocols and web server optimization standards
- Thorough knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C/C++, Python, and SQL
- Demonstrable experience and proficiency of MS suite
