Team Overview: We are an approximately 70-strong division of the firm's Business Services team dedicated to providing the full complement of outsourced services that covers accounting and other administrative functions such as management accounting, financial statements, VAT and regulatory reporting for clients in the finance sector.
Role Overview: To provide quality accounting and cloud advisory services to clients within the Business Services Team with a particular focus on corporates and not-for-profit organisations.
What you will be doing:
- Assisting the managers with a growing client portfolio, carrying out all accounting work for a wide range of profit-making organisations and charities in accordance with the firm's and statutory procedures.
- Overseeing the planning, executing, completing and producing client-ready product independently and with minimum supervision.
- Reviewing management accounts, statutory accounts, and VAT returns for a wide range of organisations in compliance with the firm's and statutory procedures.
- Taking ownership of implementing accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero) for clients.
- Providing training and support to the trainees within the team.
- Delegating, supervising, and reviewing the work of junior members of the team, providing constructive feedback and support as necessary, including being involved in the development of junior staff.
- Delivering training sessions for junior members of the team throughout the year and providing the manager of the team with innovative adaptations to accounting methodologies to improve efficiencies.
- Providing general accounting services and assistance to clients in the preparation of accounts and VAT returns, for example preparing working papers for management or statutory accounts.
- Recommending improvements to clients' accounting systems and controls and assisting clients whenever needed.
- Understanding the specification of the assignment agreed with the client and reporting immediately to the Manager/Partner if this specification needs to be changed.
- Keeping costs within budget wherever possible and reporting to the Manager/Partner as soon as agreed time/budget appears to be compromised.
What we're looking for:

What you'll bring:
- ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
- 120 UCAS points from 3 A-Levels as well as Level 6 (B) in GCSE Maths and English Language.
- Experience of working within a practice for a minimum of 4 years.
- Client facing experience.
- Experience of reviewing statutory and management accounts and VAT returns for corporates.
- Experience supporting and training junior team members.
- Experience of delivering or operating cloud solutions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of UK GAAP, specifically an understanding of FRS102 (1A).
- Willingness to attend and be involved in networking events to grow the team's client base.
