About your role: As HRBP, you’re responsible for driving our overall people strategy to support the cultural build and operation of our business, providing a commercially focused HR service across all areas.
Where does your role fit in? Working in partnership with Operations, you deliver a first class, business aligned service, expressing new and innovative ideas and solutions, making sure we consistently embody our Core Behaviors and Core Promises in everything we do.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the delivery of a commercial HR service across one of our regions.
- Regional responsibility for all employee relations activity, including Employment Tribunals.
- Drive and contribute to the People Strategy in partnership with the Talent Team and Regional Director to engage, retain and recognise our people.
- Implement and manage succession planning, identifying and developing our ‘talent pool’.
- Support the Regional Director to achieve optimum business performance.
- Coach and develop club Managers in performance management and development.
- Maintain an ‘overview’ of the Performance Management process, consulting and advising where appropriate.
- Act as integral member of the HR team working closely with the Head of HR Centre & Sr HR Business Partner, making sure that the HR team is positioned to support the Retail Operations Teams to deliver the retail proposition.
- Attend regional meetings, giving updates as appropriate and agreeing action plans where necessary.
- Prioritise change across the business, facilitating and encouraging continual improvement and innovation.
- Motivate, develop and performance manage the HR team to support the full potential of everyone and deliver a flawless implementation of people activities across the business.
- Be accountable for own self development and maintaining continuous professional development activities to keep up to date with emerging business trends and best practice.
- Provide HR support to all functions as required.
You’ll aim to achieve:

- Efficient delivery of HR service to operational teams at all times.
Your knowledge and experience:
- You have a minimum of 3 years general HR experience within a highly commercial and fast paced environment.
- You have experience of managing and leading a HR function.
- You’ve had regular exposure to and influencing senior business stakeholders including executive teams.
- You have a proven track record of working with business leaders to drive and manage change to improve business performance.
- You have a proven HR experience and knowledge including mediation, disciplinary, grievance, maternity and advising on performance management approaches.
- You have outstanding knowledge of employment law.
- You’ve developed a track record in exercising confidentiality.
- You’re able to work with all levels of staff within the organisation.
- You carry out work in an organised and structured manner.
- You prioritise your workload effectively in line with the needs of the business.
- You plan your time well so tasks are completed within deadlines and objectives are achieved.
- You know and understand the team plan and your role within it.
- You’re enthusiastic about the organisation and you’re happy to go the extra mile for your colleagues and customers.
- You have a positive and proactive approach and you’re committed to meeting targets.
- You’re a proficient user of Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- You have excellent stakeholder and project management skills.
- You have fantastic communication skills.

- A CIPD qualification or equivalent may be helpful in your role.
